Major PUBG updates with exciting gameplay additions, crossover content, weapon balance adjustments, bug fixes, and more.

PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds released a substantial new update across all platforms that delivers the highly anticipated destructible terrain feature as well as meaningful changes to weapons, in-game challenges, and more. Update 29.1 represents one of PUBG's most impactful patches in recent memory thanks to the addition of environmental destruction on one map and other tweaks aimed at refining the battle royale experience.

The biggest headline addition is destructible terrain, unlocking new layers of strategy for players in specific areas of the Rondo map. Using equipment like grenades, mortars, C4, and even a brand new pickaxe melee weapon, users can now dynamically destroy terrain within set parameters. This allows craving out cover on the fly or breaking routes through areas that were previously difficult to traverse. The new feature is bound to cause chaos and open up emergent tactics we've yet to see.

This update also expands customization with the PUBG x Ducati collaboration. For a limited time, lucrative Ducati skins can be crafted to gain access to exclusive vehicles parked around the maps. Plus, the new survivor pass brings seasonal rewards like cosmetics, guns skins, and XP boosts. Weapon changes include minor buffs to the SCAR-L and AKM along with tweaks to firing while driving and the Panzerfaust launcher.

Significant quality of life adjustments were made to various systems as well. In-game challenges received another pass with some being removed or modified for better alignment. Meanwhile, ranked rewards were tuned and progress is now tracked through a new career page rather than the old profile system. Bots have grown more realistic too with overhauled movement patterns. Small fixes across the board make for a smoother experience in the wake of Update 29.1.
