Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III (2023)

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III is a first-person shooter video game released in 2023. Developed by Sledgehammer Games and published by Activision, it serves as a sequel to Modern Warfare II from 2022. This game marks the third entry in the rebooted Modern Warfare sub-series and the twentieth installment in the renowned Call of Duty franchise. It became available on November 10, 2023, for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Windows, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S platforms.

Staying true to its predecessors, Modern Warfare III maintains a realistic and contemporary setting. It continues the sub-series' storyline, where players assume the roles of Task Force 141, an international special operations unit. Their mission involves tracking down Vladimir Makarov, a Russian ultranationalist and terrorist who aims to instigate a third World War. The gripping narrative unfolds with intense action and suspense.

The multiplayer component of Modern Warfare III features sixteen remastered maps from the highly acclaimed Modern Warfare 2, offering players nostalgic locations to engage in thrilling combat. Additionally, the game plans to introduce at least twelve new maps through post-launch updates, ensuring a fresh and diverse multiplayer experience.

Excitingly, Modern Warfare III includes a Zombies mode, developed in collaboration with Treyarch, the studio behind the Black Ops sub-series. This mode delivers an open-world player versus environment experience, immersing players in intense battles against hordes of zombies.

With its engaging storyline, robust multiplayer offerings, and the addition of a thrilling Zombies mode, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III offers an exhilarating and immersive gameplay experience for fans of the series.

MW3 Gameplay

Modern Warfare III offers a gameplay experience similar to its predecessor, Modern Warfare II, and other titles in the Call of Duty series. The single-player campaign combines linear missions with open-world missions called "Open Combat Missions." During these missions, players enjoy greater freedom in choosing their approach to objectives, whether through open combat, stealth, or ambush tactics.

An on-screen map, including a tactical map with objective outlines and available equipment caches, assists players in navigating the area. Enemies display reactive behavior, actively searching for players when they lose sight of them and calling for reinforcements as their numbers dwindle in combat.

In Multiplayer, all sixteen maps from Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 (2009) are available, and players can vote for maps while in a matchmade lobby. Player health has been adjusted to create a longer "time-to-kill" (TTK) experience. The beloved "red dot" minimap, absent in Modern Warfare (2019) and Modern Warfare II, makes its return, allowing players to spot enemies on the radar when they fire unsuppressed weapons.

Additionally, players have the ability to cancel sliding animations, known as "slide canceling." Classic game modes like "Kill Confirmed" and "Hardpoint" are reintroduced, alongside a new mode called "Cutthroat," where three teams of three players compete against each other.

Players can also engage in the multiplayer Ground War mode with dedicated maps, as well as the War mode last seen in Call of Duty: WWII. The game incorporates AI-powered moderation, monitoring in-game interactions and swiftly reporting any excessively toxic behavior. Post-launch, the game is set to receive at least twelve new 6v6 multiplayer maps, along with the addition of fan-favorite maps from Modern Warfare II each season.

Furthermore, Modern Warfare III includes an open-world player versus environment (PvE) Zombies mode, developed collaboratively by Treyarch and Sledgehammer Games. This mode differs from the traditional round-based survival experience found in previous Zombies modes and is structurally similar to the DMZ mode in Call of Duty: Warzone 2.0. Up to 24 players form separate squads within a large-sized map, which doubles as the new battle royale map for Warzone 2.0.

Squads can confront both zombies and AI-controlled human enemies, completing objectives scattered across the map while collecting loot to sell at buy stations or extract via exfiltration. Instead of rounds, the map is divided into "zones" indicating varying levels of difficulty. After 45 minutes of in-match time, an "Aether Storm" begins to expand and cover the map, providing players with 15 minutes to exfiltrate with their loot, which can be carried over into subsequent matches.

Classic mechanics from previous Zombies modes, such as weapon wall buys, Perk-a-Cola drinks, and the Mystery Box, make a return. The mode also features story quests that advance the overall narrative.

If you're eager to unlock new guns and equipment in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 but want to avoid the lengthy progression system or the grind of Armory Unlock requirements, this comprehensive guide has got you covered. It reveals a clever method to unlock these items early using the all-new Zombies mode.

By successfully Exfil-ing with locked weapons, you can unlock them ahead of time in all game modes, including Multiplayer. This means you can obtain sought-after items like the MCW or Shock Stick, which are typically only available through high-level progression and Armory Unlock Challenges.

Similar to the DMZ feature in MW2, all you need to do is pick up the desired equipment in Zombies Mode, whether it's from a Mystery Box, Wall Buy, or dropped by a friend. Then, successfully Exfil from the mode. Any guns, tactical items, or lethal items you Exfil with will automatically unlock for use in all game modes.

This method saves you countless hours since you no longer have to grind player levels or waste your daily challenge completions on specific Armory Unlock challenges. Now, you can enjoy the benefits of powerful weapons and equipment early on, enhancing your gameplay experience in Modern Warfare 3.
