Attack: Buzz Off

Buzz releases five piercing sound waves in a wide arc, covering nearby enemies. The attack has a slow unload time of 0.9 seconds but compensates with its damage potential.

Super: Torpedo Throw

Buzz launches a buoy that latches onto enemies or walls, pulling him toward the target. Upon arrival, Buzz stuns enemies within a 2.33-tile radius. The stun duration depends on the distance traveled, ranging from 0.5 seconds (minimum) to 1.5 seconds (maximum). Buzz's Super can traverse obstacles and even lakes, but it can be interrupted by crowd-control effects such as pushes or stuns.

Trait: Proximity Super Charge

Buzz’s Trait passively charges his Super when enemies are within his 6-tile range. Each enemy contributes 6.75% Super charge per second, and multiple enemies within this radius significantly speed up the process. Even hidden or invisible enemies trigger this effect.

Buzz's Strengths and Weaknesses

Strengths:

  • High damage output at close range.
  • A durable fighter on the battlefield with high health.
  • Stun multiple enemies with his Super.
  • Excellent mobility.
  • Passive Trait enables consistent Super charging

Weekness:

  • Struggles against long-range brawlers.
  • Vulnerable during cooldown periods.
  • Requires precise aim and timing to maximize damage.

Best build for Buzz Brawl Stars

Buzz Brawl Stars build needs to exploit his strengths and overcome his weaknesses, below are the best options for Buzz to ensure he remains a formidable force in any match along with why it is appropriate for him.

Hypercharge – Buzzwatch

Buzz’s Hypercharge ability, Buzzwatch, is a game-changer. It instantly recharges Buzz’s Super when he hits a wall, and it also gives him a 25% speed boost along with a 15% damage and shield increase. This makes Buzz even more formidable and fast in combat, especially when using his Super repeatedly to outmaneuver enemies.

Best Gadget for Buzz - Reserve Buoy

This gadget instantly fills Buzz’s Super meter but causes his Super not stun enemies. It's a useful tool for quickly getting Buzz's Super ready, although timing and strategy are needed to ensure it doesn’t waste the opportunity to stun.

If Buzz's Super is already full, he cannot activate the Gadget. Additionally, if Buzz is knocked out before he can use the Super, he will respawn without benefiting from the Gadget’s charge.

Best Star Power for Buzz - Eyes Sharp

With this star power, Buzz’s Trait radius increases by 33%, giving him more space to charge his Super. This makes him more versatile in larger battles, ensuring his Super charges quickly even in crowded skirmishes.

Best Gear for Buzz - Damage & Shield

Buzz’s playstyle often puts him in risky situations, so Damage gear helps him deal more damage when he’s low on health, potentially turning the tide of a fight. In other hand, Shield improves Buzz’s survivability, allowing him to stay in the fight longer and maximize his damage output.

Buzz Gameplay Strategy

Countering Buzz

Despite his strengths, Buzz does have clear weaknesses that skilled players can exploit. His biggest drawback is his short attack range, which makes him vulnerable to mid-range and long-range brawlers. Here’s how to effectively counter Buzz:

  • Colt, Darryl, Bibi can outrange and kite him by their superior range, keeping a safe distance while continuously dealing damage before Buzz gets close.
  • Crow deal poison damage weakens Buzz over time and limits his healing.
  • Tanker who can bear many shots and has longer range such as Frank and Ash.
  • Surge, Gale, Otis is best selections when opposing with Buzz in Saber Mode.

Best Team Composition with Buzz

Buzz thrives in team setups where he can play aggressively while being supported by teammates:

  • Poco or Pam to heal and sustain him during fights, making him more long-lived.
  • Spike or Barley to handle crowd control while Buzz dives into the backline.
  • El Primo or Bull for frontline synergy.

In general, there will be 3 types of formations that combine effectively with Buzz:

  • Buzz + Tank Support + Controller
  • Buzz + Healer + Range Brawler
  • Buzz + Crowd Control

Best Game Modes for Buzz

Buzz excels in the following modes:

  • Brawl Ball: Use his Super to stun enemies and clear a path for goals.
  • Gem Grab: Buzz’s ability to zone enemies out of the gem mine makes him valuable.
  • Showdown: His burst damage and mobility make him a strong contender in solo or duo battles.

Tips for playing Buzz Brawl Stars

buzz-brawl-stars-tips

Here are some tips that I have filtered from my gaming experience, some are taken from others' sharing.

1/ To hit all five shots with Buzz’s Super, move clockwise around your enemy or attack at close range. The second method is easier but riskier, as Brawlers like Spike, Bull, and Darryl can overpower Buzz in close combat.

2/ Buzz’s Super charges quickly, but avoid using it on enemies that are too far away, especially those moving horizontally, as they can outpace your Super. Use your Super to close the gap when enemies are fleeing or out of range, stunning them and giving you the chance to finish them off.

3/ Buzz is not immune to damage while charging or when he’s knocked back. If you're low on health, charging into an enemy can be dangerous. Also, if Buzz gets stunned or pushed while charging, his Super will be interrupted. However, if no enemies are nearby, you can still defeat the stunned enemy, as Buzz’s high damage can finish them off before they recover.

4/ To increase the chances of landing your Super, try to position near a wall, rather than directly on top of the enemy. This will help ensure that you can move closer to your target without missing, as hitting moving enemies with your Super is challenging.

5/ In a Buzz mirror match, if both players have their Super charged, the second one to activate will stun the first. For example, if your opponent stuns you first, activating your Super afterward will stun them instead, allowing you to defeat them more easily.

6/ If an opponent Buzz uses his Super to stun you, try to position yourself near a wall. This can cause your opponent’s charge to be interrupted, giving you a chance to recover and counterattack.

7/ Buzz’s high health and Super’s ability to charge from a distance make him a formidable attacker, even against tanks like Bull. You can camp near walls or in bushes to build up your Super and surprise your enemies when you’re ready to strike.

8/ Buzz can excel in Heist by using his Super to stun defenders near the enemy safe, clearing the area, and then dealing significant damage with his fast reload speed. His high health allows him to survive longer when attacking the safe, unlike low-health Brawlers typically used in this mode.

9/ Buzz’s Reserve Buoy Gadget is especially useful in tight situations, such as escaping without a Super or catching up to fleeing enemies. It’s also great for a quick attack at the start of the match.

10/ Buzz’s Trait charges his Super when near a single enemy, which is especially useful at the beginning of a match. You can also use it to gather intel in bushy maps like Snake Prairie, where his Eyes Sharp Star Power expands his Trait’s range.

11/ In close combat, consider using Buzz’s Tougher Torpedo Star Power to extend the stun duration and secure eliminations. However, this makes it harder to charge your Super for escaping other threats after dealing with nearby Brawlers.

12/ On larger, open maps, Buzz’s Eyes Sharp Star Power is valuable, as it allows him to quickly charge his Super while avoiding close-range combat. This Star Power makes it easier to track enemies and gain an advantage in long-range fights.

13/ Buzz’s wide area attack and high damage make him ideal for taking down multiple enemies grouped together. However, after using his attack, he can be vulnerable to counterattacks, so make sure to have another Super ready to clean up.

14/ Use the Reserve Buoy Gadget to chase down low-health enemies quickly. You don’t always need to rely on stunning to finish them off, making Buzz a versatile and dangerous opponent.

15/ In Brawl Ball Overtime, use Buzz’s Super to stun the enemy holding the ball, then activate the Reserve Buoy Gadget to grab the ball and score while they’re stunned. For an easier time, equip the Tougher Torpedo Star Power to ensure a longer stun duration.

Conclusion

Buzz in Brawl Stars is generally a comprehensive Brawler, he has speed, damage, and health. The only weakness is his short attack range. Despite that, he still has the potential to dominate the battlefield and the best Buzz build above make him even more shine.
