The nerfing of the Counter move has led to a decline in Annihilape’s popularity, as players now find it more challenging to gather the necessary energy for charged moves. It's worth mentioning that Annihilape isn’t the only Pokémon feeling the effects; several other Fighting-type Pokémon have also become less effective. However, there seems to be a resurgence on the horizon for Annihilape with the introduction of this new move.
In a recent blog post, Niantic revealed the featured Pokémon for the upcoming Community Day. As hinted earlier, November’s Community Day will focus on the Fighting-type Pokémon, Mankey. A key highlight of this event is that players will have the opportunity to unlock the brand-new charged move Rage Fist for both Primeape and Annihilape. To unlock it, players must evolve either Mankey or Primeape during the event or up to five hours after its conclusion. The event is set to take place on November 10, from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM local time.
In addition to the chance to unlock a new move, participants can expect a wealth of bonuses during the event. The previously stringent requirement for evolving Annihilape will be relaxed, allowing players to catch just 20 Fighting-type Pokémon while having Primeape as their buddy. Additionally, players will earn triple XP and double candy for catching Pokémon. The community has praised the XL Candy bonus in the past, and it will return alongside increased duration for Incense and Lure Modules.
