Apex Legends supports cross-play across multiple platforms: the EA app, PC, PlayStation, Xbox, and Nintendo Switch. Launched in October 2020, this feature lets players team up and play together in most game modes no matter which device they use.

Xbox and PC players can play Apex Legends together thanks to its crossplay feature. To play together, add your friend using their EA Public ID or Xbox Gamertag in the Friends menu, then invite them to your party.
That said, console players (Xbox, PlayStation, Switch) are not matched with PC players in random lobbies unless a PC player is in their squad. This helps balance the gameplay, since PC players usually use mouse and keyboard, which can offer faster aiming compared to console controllers.
Crossplay is enabled by default, allowing you to join lobbies with players across all platforms without extra setup. We don’t recommend disabling crossplay as it may result in longer queue times.
You can't turn off cross-play if you're playing on PC, but if you're on PlayStation, Xbox, or Nintendo Switch, you can disable it by following these steps:
From the main menu, go to Settings via the cog icon.
Navigate to the Gameplay tab.
Find Cross Platform Play and set it to Disabled.
Click Apply Settings. Restart the game if the change doesn’t take effect immediately.

Cross-progression in Apex Legends is compulsory for all players, which lets you carry your progress, cosmetics, and currencies across all platforms under one EA Account. The progress is tied permanently to this EA Account, and it cannot be moved to another EA Account.
If you had more than one Apex Legends account linked to your EA account, the account with the highest level becomes the master account. If multiple accounts have the same level, the most recently logged-in account is chosen. Stats from the master account are retained; stats from secondary accounts are not merged and become inaccessible.
Simple steps to link your platform accounts to your EA Account:
Log into Apex Legends on any platform.
Follow the in-game prompt to link accounts to your EA Account, or manually link via EA’s account management page.
Verify synchronization to ensure progress, cosmetics, and currencies are updated across platforms.
Most items like skins, banners, and unlocked Legends will carry over to your master account. However, platform-exclusive items (e.g., Nintendo’s P.A.T.H. skin, PlayStation Plus, or Xbox Gold rewards) will stay on their original platform. Battle Pass progression, challenges, and XP sync seamlessly, so you can pick up right where you left off. For in-game currency:
Apex Coins on PC, PlayStation, and Xbox merge into one shared wallet.
Nintendo Switch Apex Coins remain platform-locked.
Crafting Materials, Legend Tokens, and Heirloom Shards merge and are usable across platforms.
